[ARCHIVED] Public Comment Period Notice 2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022 CDBG Amended Annual Action Plans

PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD NOTICE 2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022 CDBG AMENDED ANNUAL ACTION PLANS 

The City of Sebastian is adopting Amended 2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022 Annual Action Plans (AAPs) to meet entitlement Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) requirements. The foregoing AAPs are being amended to reflect line-item accounting changes. These changes are not considered substantial amendments, but rather a reflection of a delay in activities due to COVID-19 restrictions. The City is seeking input from potential stakeholders and the public on the needs of low-income citizens. These funds must be used for one of the following purposes: 

1. To benefit low-to-moderate income persons; 

or 2. To aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight; 

or 3. To meet other community development needs of a particular urgency because existing conditions pose a serious and immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community 

A public hearing will be held on July 27, 2022, at, 6:00pm or as soon as may be heard thereafter in City Hall Chambers on 1225 Main Street, Sebastian Florida, 32958 for community organizations and the public to provide input into the AAPs after the comment period ends. Amended AAPs have been developed based upon those comments. Activities proposed include housing repairs for veterans, elderly and special needs and sidewalks and pedestrian malls within the Community Redevelopment Area.

The public hearing is being conducted in a disability accessible location. Any person requiring special accommodation (ADA) for a disability at the time of the meeting must call the City at least 72 hours in advance at (772) 589-5330. Any person requiring an interpreter for the hearing impaired or the visually impaired (statewide toll-free TDD call in number is 800-955-8771), or any non-English speaking person, or any disabled person requiring special accommodation at this meeting should contact the person listed above at least five (5) calendar days prior to the meeting.
