Classes
The Sebastian Community Center offers a variety of classes to meet the needs of our residents. Kathy Falzone, Recreation Supervisor, oversees the Community Center operations and also teaches some of the classes. Feel free to contact Kathy for more information on any of our classes or if you are interested in teaching a class at the Community Center.
THOUGH THE CURRENT COVID-19 PANDEMIC SITUATION HAS LESSENED, WE ARE ONLY OFFERING THE FOLLOWING CLASSES AT THIS TIME.
GROUP FITNESS CLASS
Come and join your friends and neighbors for a complete full body workout. This invigorating and fun class will help build and maintain your cardiovascular fitness level, improve your stamina and endurance and challenge your balance. Both men and women are welcome to participate in this moderate intensity, moderate impact aerobic workout. The format includes a general warm-up and stretching, approximately 30 minutes of cardio, strength training segment, floor-work and ends with a relaxing cool-down. Please bring your own hand weights and mat.

TAI CHI FOR HEALTH PROGRAM
Tai Chi originated in ancient China and today over 300 million people worldwide practice it primarily for its health benefits. Tai Chi consists of slow, gentle, circular movements and slow, deep breathing that aids in concentration and relaxation. Some of the health benefits of the ongoing practice of Tai Chi include: increased flexibility and muscle strength, improved balance and posture and the integration of the mind and body.
Dr. Paul Lam and a panel of Tai Chi and medical experts developed the Tai Chi for Health programs and people of almost any age or physical condition find that Tai Chi is fun and easy to learn. GENTLE YOGA
Those who practice yoga know its value in improving health, vitality, and prolonging youthful energy far beyond the generally accepted norm. Yoga develops self-awareness as well as control of mind and body through the practice of Asanas (yoga body postures), breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. By practicing Yoga, you can improve your posture, balance, flexibility and strength. Please bring your own yoga mat.
